Hello, I'm Hanna. I have been a freelance costume maker for about ten years and I hope to be one once again very soon! I usually make for Shakespeare's Globe @the_globe. The last show I made for was the (unfortunately cancelled due to lockdown) tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream, designed by the brilliant @andrewedwards
I have always been into Japanese art, theatre and literature; so I studied for a MA in Japanese Studies at @soasuni a few years ago, where my passions really came alive and I got to study Japanese costume and textiles in-depth. So much so that I ended up writing a novel about indigo dyeing and kabuki theatre in 19th century Japan. Now I'm doing a PhD in creative & critical writing at @sussexuni and making these little items, which are inspired by traditional Japanese dyeing and making techniques.
I welcome commissions and collaborations.
