Hello and welcome to @oddsandendshackney! I’m Maria, a bespoke tailor and costume maker. Before lockdown I worked for the Royal Opera House, and also made costumes for TV productions like ‘The Crown’ and the (forever) upcoming James Bond film. Lockdown meant I finally had time to turn Odds & Ends Hackney into a reality - an idea I’ve been nurturing (and hoarding material for at home) for years! My mission is to make truly sustainable clothing and accessories from tailoring house scraps and leftover material. Each piece is made to look lovely, last long, and have as little impact on the environment as possible. Every garment is made-to-order and customisable - meaning that they can fit most shapes and sizes and waste is kept to a minimum. My designs are inspired by vintage and traditional tailoring, with a special focus on silhouettes and details. These are versatile pieces that you can dress up or down in, and that carry through the seasons. Write me a message if you want to know more, or find my work on Instagram and Etsy.
