Hi I’m Jess, a Costume Maker and Alterations Stitcher usually busy working where ever I am needed on West End Cast Changes or new shows. Since the theatre world went quiet in March I have been working through my stash of fabrics and off cuts. Initially, like so many others, making masks and Scrubs, this has progressed to reusable face wipes, kitchen towels and fabric bags in various styles – great for storage, snacks and alternatives to gift wrap. I challenge myself to create as little waste as possible, and save fabric off cuts from making costumes or clothes - I do struggle to throw away fabric scraps no matter how small! These have been transformed into decorative items such as stuffed animals and memory bears.
